The 2018 Life Audit

Bonjour 2018!

Wow! It’s been a while you guys! How have you been? I hope it’s still not too late for me to wish you all a happy and prosperous 2018! I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays as much as I did.

So yeah, I’ve been on a “blogging vacation” for over three weeks ( it does sounds like a long time for me!) mainly because life has been so busy for me since around October (working almost everyday plus keeping up with the blog) but I still did my best to be consistent on my blog posts trying to cross off every single blog ideas I have for the rest of 2017 yet eventually fatigue has finally caught up with me making it difficult to be creative so I know I had to rest physically and mentally in order for me to be able to share what I want to consider as “quality” articles that are worth reading because you guys deserve it!

I finally had the chance to have a full week off from work last week which I thought would give me time to start blogging again but I eventually decided to use that time to do some “adulting“…

“The 2018 Life Audit!”

I thought it’s the perfect timing to re-evaluate my life plans since it’s the beginning of a new year and it’s definitely one of the best time to start anew.

The experience was very enlightening to me and has absolutely helped to clear my mind and made me choose my priorities wisely in order for me to be able to hopefully achieve my life goals.

“What are my future plans?”

This has been one of my childhood dreams and since I still have the energy to work as many hours as I can, I thought it’s finally time for me to start saving for a house. I think it helps that I am still living home so yeah, I’ll take advantage of that and save.

I am such a big goal setter but I suck at implementing them so that’s one thing that I really want to start changing this year.

I think it’s my busy schedule (and all these freakin’ snow) that’s making me want to go for a vacation! LOL. But honestly, it’s been one of my dreams to travel to different cities and countries so again, that’s one thing I want to do more often this year.

Good or bad, I’ll take all of ’em and turn it into a lesson that will help me improve myself!

I know I always say this but it can sometimes be difficult to find happiness in this cruel world but I am sticking to my 2017 motto- to embrace positivity so life can be happier!

“What’s my 2018 mantra??!”

Simple. To take life one day at a time. I know it’s cliché but this thinking has been helping me a lot this past few days.

Now, for my blogging goals!

This is an exciting topic for me because I got the chance to brainstorm for upcoming blog posts. Of course, it would be about fashion, beauty, lifestyle, DIY’s and about life in general so make sure to tune in!

There will definitely be a lot of changes because I am a strong believer that change is always essential for growth! There will be new blog series and topics that I hope will interest everyone.

I’ve also been in constant communication with a few brands for collaborations and I’m very very excited to share these to all of you in the next coming days!

Also, I will be sharing with you all a new project that I’ve been planning and working on for the past few weeks so I hope you guys will join me in this new adventure! (Announcement is coming soon!!)

And I will be doing a makeup give away very very soon!! Yes! My very first giveaway as my way of saying thank you for your support!

So that’s all for now! I know it’s a long post but I just missed talking to you guys so please forgive me on this one and I hope you at least enjoyed reading!

I will talk to you soon and please, always be happy!

Much love,

“Autumn 2017 Favorites”

Today is officially the first day of Winter but before I start forcing myself to enjoy this season, I thought I’d share with you all a few of what I’ve been lovin’ this past Fall. I purposely did not share a November Favorites post because I’ve planned to share this post instead but these past few weeks have been really hectic for me so I’m only sharing it now.

Anyways, let’s proceed to my

Autumn 2017 Favorites!

Yes! Books! I’ve had a few trips to the bookstore this Fall and I couldn’t stop getting me some new books. What’s exciting is that I’ve been in to Lifestyle and Poetry books which kind of in line in my blog! I have to be honest though that I haven’t read any of ’em yet because as I said earlier, my schedule has been super hectic so I couldn’t find time to sit down and read.

Ahh! Candles!! I’ve start collecting these beauties since October and I still couldn’t have enough of them. They all smell really nice but I just don’t have the heart to light them up because they’re all so pretty!

I guess if you’ve been following or reading my previous blog posts then you can totally agree on this one. Sephora in particular has been my addiction for the past few months (or years?). However, I’ve been considering on doing a “No Makeup Buy Month” since I’ve been accumulating so much products and I thought it would be a total waste to continue buying products if I don’t even have the chance of using all of them up. This is a perfect goal for the new year so I’ll keep you guys posted.

I’ve never been so in love with notebooks when I was a student so it’s weird that I’ve been having some fascination for notebooks lately. I haven’t been writing a lot either so they’re basically just piling up everywhere. I’ve been collecting notebooks for over a year now and I know I have to stop because I just don’t have enough space for them.

•Skincare Products•

Who doesn’t want to have a perfect skin? Although mine is far from being perfect, I definitely do not want to go back to that time when I’ve had really bad breakouts so I’ve been trying to be consistent on my skincare routine but I’ve also been trying out a few products to discover which ones really works for me.

•Statement Earings•

I don’t know why, but I’ve been loving these earings lately. I do not wear them everyday but just looking at ’em makes me giddy.

•Lise Watier’s Makeup Brush Cleaner•

I’m using this as a spot brush cleaner for my eyeshadow brushes when transitioning to different shades and it works perfectly! It actually is a time saver because it dries quickly and does a thorough job on cleaning my brushes. I love that it does not affect the quality of my eyeshadow’s color and consistency so it’s safe to use it even on a daily basis (if you prefer).

•Marc Jacobs Nail Polish•

Firstly, the packaging is a bomb! The quality of the polishes is also really nice so I can’t complain. I’ve actually thrown most of my nail polishes since most of them already dried up so I learned my lesson to be a minimalist on owning nail polishes. Currently, I have 10 or 15 polishes and I’d like to keep it that way for now.

•Fall Vibe•

Firstly, I apologize for the picture since I realized that I actually didn’t take any Fall landscape pictures! Anyways, the different colors of leaves and the weather makes this season all the more beautiful to me! It’s the main reasons why Autumn is my favorite season.

And that’s what I’ve been craving about this Fall! Normally, I would include knee high boots but I haven’t been feeling ’em lately and I don’t know why!

What are your favorites this last Fall?

Much love,

“December 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag Reveal”

Can you believe 2017 is almost over?! This year for me is going by so so fast. Time indeed is fleet. Anyways, it’s that time of the month again for me to share what’s in my Ipsy bag and honestly, I’m not as thrilled as before maybe because I’m receiving the same items month after month.

My bag came a bit late this month but I won’t complain because I know delivery is a bit slower during the holidays so I won’t put the blame to Ipsy.

Compared to the past few months, this month’s bag is my favorite. It fits this month’s theme which is snow globe and it feels and looks way more sturdy than the one’s I received before.

So let’s take a look on my December goodies!

•First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser•

I have a long list of cleansers I want to try and this is actually on my list so I’m glad I have it on my bag. The size is decent and it would be more than enough for me to really try it out before deciding to get the regular size.

•Smashbox Alway On Gel Liner in Fishnet •

I love eye liners but I’ve been trying to stop adding more in my small collection because I want to use up most of what I already have before they start drying up so I’m really not thrilled on getting one on this month’s bag but I’m still gonna give it a try.

•Rodial GLAMOLASH mascara XXL•

If I’m trying to clear up my liners, I’m also trying to use up my mascaras since I’ve been getting ’em each month from Ipsy and Topbox. As much as I want to try new released mascaras, I’ve been really discouraging myself because I don’t want then to be wasted. I just hate that Ipsy can’t think of something else to add on my December glam bag than this mascara! I’ve been getting it each month since I signed up!

•Luxie Precision Shader•

Another repeat and a big bummer is this makeup brush from Luxie. I of course receive another makeup brush last month so getting another one this month is a bit boring.

•trèStiQue Mini Brow Pencil•

I purposely saved the best for last because this is the most exciting item I got this month and probably my favorite. The packaging is cute and unique which is what impressed me! I can’t wait to start using this.

So that sums up my December Ipsy Glam Bag!

Last month I unsubscribed from my TopBox subscription and I’m going to do the same with Ipsy. This is going to be my last bag since I’m a bit disappointed on getting the same type of products over and over. Also, my goal right now is to use up all my makeup and stop buying anything for the first few months of 2018. (I’m crossing my fingers on this one!)

What’s in your December Ipsy bag?

Much love,

“OLEHENRIKSEN 12 Days of Ole Glow Skincare Advent Calendar First Impressions”

Ole Henriksen is one of the brands I want to explore more after being impressed with the Truth Serum and the Ole Henriksen Instabright Power Set so I was instantly intrigued at the sight of the 12 Days of Ole Glow Skincare Advent Calendar in Sephora’s website.

To top it off, it went on sale from $62.00 CAD to $59.00 CAD during the VIB 2017 Reward sale which means I’m eligible for a $20.00 off! I ended up snagging this beautiful set for just $39.00 CAD (tax not included) which is such an amazing deal!

I finally receive it in the mail and this I’m seriously impressed and excited to finally start using all of these goodies.

The packaging is gorgeous with its Christmas inspired design and does feel sturdy.

Once you open it, you’ll be welcomed with yet again super cute Christmas related images.

My excitement of course took a hold of me and I opened each and every box!

This set contains the following:

•Truth Serum (7ML)•

This is sold for $19.00 CAD for 15 ML and this has been a staple on my skincare essentials for the past few months so I’m super thrilled to get it on this set.

•Sheer Transformation Perfecting Moisturizer (7ML)•

Available for $15.00 CAD for 15 ML in Sephora’s website with so much good reviews so I’m excited to try it soon.

•Pore-Balance Facial Sauna Scrub (28 g)•

The name itself is very exciting and I’ve been developing a love affair with facial scrubs these past few weeks so this is a welcome addition on my collection. It’s available for $34.00 CAD for a 85g tube.

•Force of Nurture Intensive Hand Crème (30 ML)•

I love the packaging of this hand cream, I thought it’s unique and eye catching. I actually tried it and was impressed that it does not feel greasy or oily. The smell is buttery but very subtle which I love. This is sold for $26.00 CAD for a 100 ML tube.

•Counter Balance Oil Control Hydrator (15 ML)•

As the name implies, I thought this would be perfect for Summer since my skin is usually on the drier side during the Winter season. I was immediately impressed on how smart this moisturizer is package since it came with a pump. Priced at $42.00 CAD for 50 ML.

•The Clean Truth Foaming Cleanser (50 ML)•

I’ve been eyeing this cleanser this month because I wanted to use it hand in hand with the Truth Serum so I’m thrilled to get this on this set. It also has really good reviews so I think it’s worth a try. This is available for $12.00 for a 50 ML bottle which is exactly the same size that you get on this set.

•Transforming Walnut Scrub (28 g)•

Walnut scrub, really? I haven’t tried anything like this before so why not! This is available for $34.00 CAD for 85g.

•Uplifting Transformation Eye Gel (7ML)•

Eye gels and creams are pricey in general so it’s always useful to get these products in sets like these to try it out before deciding to buy a regular size. This gel alone is sold for $42.00 CAD for 15 ML!

•Invigorating Night Transformation Gel (7ML)•

Reading the name made me overwhelmed but after doing a bit of reading, this apparently acts like a serum. Like most products on this set, it also has really good reviews! It is sold for $58.00 CAD for a 50 ML bottle which I think ia probably the reason why this came in just a 7ML container. I really hoped they added a bit more though.

•Nurture Me Moisturizing Crème (7ML)•

This moisturizer contains Vitamina C & E which I thought is amazing. Olehenriksen’s products are mostly infused with Vitamin C so I think it’s what’s drawing me to this brand. A 50ML jar of this moisturizer is sold for $50.00 CAD.

•Uplifting Transformation Eye Crème (7ML)•

This is basically just a cream based version of the Uplifting Transformation Eye Gel. It’s sold for $52.00 CAD for a 15 ML jar.

•Pure Truth Youth Activating Oil (7ML)•

This for me is very intriguing and exciting as it contains pure rosehip oil which I’ve been so curious about for a long while now so finally I would be able to try it out with this face brightening oil. It’s however  highly priced for $56.00 CAD for a 30 ML bottle.

Over all, this set is very impressive. The price is very reasonable since you are getting 12 decently sized products which are very usable and essential on everyone’s skincare routine. I just wished there’s more variety but other than that, it’s perfect!

This also the only Skincare Advent Calendar I bought this season and it’s more than enough.

What do you think about this set?

Much love,
